Test your Hard Drive for FREE using a Spyware/Virus free tool called DFT Drive Fitness Test from Hitachi.
Is your computer making louder than normal clicking noise? Is your system randomly shutting down, very slow, or giving errors? Your hard drive might be going bad and your important files and photos could be in danger.
Using this free tool you can test your Hard Drive without the need for a techy friend or someone to help you. Go to this website http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm#DFT and download the "CD_image" file.

You will need a CD Burning program that can burn an .ISO image to disc, and One blank CD-R. If you do NOT have a CD burning program that can burn .ISO files you can download a free tool here http://www.ntfs.com/iso_burner_free.htm . After downloading and burning the image file onto the CD, you need to keep it in the CD drive then restart your computer and boot to the disc. Follow the steps on the screen to run the"Advanced Test" to be sure if the Hard Drive is good or bad. If the Hard drive fails and a big RED error comes on the screen lookup the "0x70" or other error code on Google to find out what it means. If the test results show that it passed then your hard drive is good.
